Jason Ritter Is Returning To NBC's 'Parenthood'

Good news: Jason Ritter is returning to NBC's Parenthood!

As fans know, Ritter played Mark Cyr, the former boyfriend of Sarah Braverman, played by Lauren Graham. After their relationship ended (and kind of during it too), Sarah dated local photographer Hank (Ray Romano). It was bad enough that Sarah and Mark broke up, but watching her with Hank was like watching someone stomp on our already broken hearts.

The 'Breaking Bad' "Alternate" Ending Gets Leaked

Update: Sony blocked the video. If you missed it, it was a Malcolm In The Middle spin on the Newhart show ending. You'll have to get the DVDs to watch it!

Here you go! The "alternate" ending to Breaking Bad:

This seems to be from the upcoming Breaking Bad DVD set, as it's on the YouTube account of Michael Davies, a producer on AMC's Talking Bad. Of course, we've already seen this type of ending on Newhart, so I wouldn't consider this to be an actual alternate ending (in the sense that it could have been used), but just a really fun gag they decided to shoot to keep our favorite show living on just a little bit longer.

CBS Orders Pilot for 'How I Met Your Dad'

(and yes, a spin-off intervention is needed)
Well, it's happened.

CBS has ordered the pilot for the How I Met Your Mother spin-off. The name? How I Met Your Dad.

Two things:

1. If you're going to copy the show, at least go full throttle and call it How I Met Your Father

When TV Shows Reference Other TV Shows

You know you're a TV geek when...

...it warms your little TV-obsessed heart every time one TV show references another. I'm not just talking about simply mentioning another TV show. I'm talking about when there's a much deeper meaning behind that reference. More of a non-comedic callback, if you will.

Two of my favorite examples from the current TV season:

A 'How I Met Your Mother' Spin-Off Is So Against The Bro Code

Someone please tell me that today is April Fools' Day. Because I just heard that CBS is considering a How I Met Your Mother spin-off, tentatively titled How I Met Your Father. It's gotta be a really cruel joke, right?

Earlier this week I wrote about my hatred for TV reboots. I guess I should have included my hatred for utterly unnecessary TV spin-offs as well.

What's With All The TV Reboots?

My reaction to the news that NBC was considering a Murder, She Wrote remake, starring Octavia Spencer? I almost spit out my coffee (obviously because I tried to yell out "Why????" as I was drinking.)

I think it's great that an increasing number of successful actors are taking TV seriously. I love that an Academy Award winner wants to be on a TV show. But why Murder, She Wrote? That show will forever be associated with Angela Lansbury. Why not just take Spencer and put her in a show about murder mysteries and give it a different name?

Breaking The Rules: Hello to "The Good Wife," Goodbye to "Revenge"

I have a problem. I refuse to start watching a TV show at any episode other than episode 1, and after watching the first two seasons of a show, I always see it through to the end.

I don't understand how people say things like, "Oh yeah, I started watching that show during the second season. Haven't seen Season 1 yet." What??? How is that possible? How do you just jump in without knowing all of the back stories? Without knowing every conversation each character had? Without understanding all of the minutia of all the relationships that led up to the very moment you're watching now? That's what Netflix and Hulu are for, right? So you can start a show at the very beginning even if it's already been on for years (like what I just did with Breaking Bad.)
