Sarah Michelle Gellar Stars In "The Crazy Ones"

I LOVE Sarah Michelle Gellar. Actually ignore that. I'm obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And so, by association, I feel a certain loyalty to SMG. Thus, I'm the girl who watched all of Ringer and am now forcing myself to watch The Crazy Ones.

Yes, I said forcing myself. In theory, the show should be great. It's SMG. Bob Benson (James Wolk) from Mad Men. The fired guy (Hamish Linklater) from The Newsroom. The chick (Amanda Setton) from The Mindy Project. And of course, Robin Williams from, well, everything (though I prefer to credit him with Mrs. Doubtfire). But a good cast does not a good show make. Aside from the fact that the show is already incredibly unrealistic, Williams is in such a massive over-the-top Robin Williams mode that it would have been better if they'd just filmed a bunch of Robin Williams comedy specials instead of trying to mask it as a sitcom.

The point is, this show is impossible to watch without feeling like nails are constantly dragging across a chalkboard.

But.... Sarah Michelle Gellar. I feel loyalty guilt. So I'll hate The Crazy Ones, but I'll keep watching it. And I'll just secretly keep my fingers crossed that CBS slays* this show to put me out of my misery.

*Yes, I went there. But at least I didn't say "The Crazy Ones made me crazy," right?
